We are trying to decide what our official club name should be. Some
have expressed interest in bringing the old TLCA name, Deep South
Cruisers back to life, while others have expressed interest in letting
the old name rest in peace. Other names that have been mentioned are
Yellow Hammer Cruisers and Alabama Land Cruisers.

Post up your thoughts on these names or share other names that we
might be interested in.

I am pretty neutral on the Deep South Cruisers name. From what I have
understood there was some bad blood with the Deep South Cruisers
chapter. I am not what sure happened. Years have past since the
chapter was was active. There are many pros and cons with the name.
Some Cons is the bad blood among fellow individuals and/or clubs. This
could lead to future issues if people fail to realize this is a new
club with new charter members. I don't foresee this being an issue
though. Some pros include using a familar name, but with a new image.
People know that name. We could also use merchandise and materials
from the old chapter to get us started and save money.

Yellowhammer Cruisers or Alabama Land Cruisers are good names that
relate to our state. While Gulf State Cruisers or Dixieland Cruisers
relate to our region making it attractive to residents of other states
in the Southeast.

As with you I have no real preference, but I do agree, I think with a
new start we should start with a new name.
