If you want to start a new subject (like this one) set the Subject: to
something new.
If you want to reply only to the author of a message make sure the
"To:" address is the author's address and not
ALHS...@googlegroups.com.
If the volume of email traffic ever increases beyond your tolerance
level you can
go to http://groups.google.com/group/ALHS1979 click "Edit my
Membership" (on the right side of the page) and change your setting to
Digest, Abridged, or No email. If you set it to No email you can
still go to the group discussion page and read the posts.
Notice also that you can add quite a bit of info to your profile. I
just updated mine with picture and more bio info. Now you can see how
old I have become :) If you decide to fill out your profile, remember
that it is public so don't add anything that you would not want the
whole world to know. Please set you Nickname to the name you had at
ALHS that way people won't have to ask who you are.
If you have the email address of any of our classmates please invite
them to join this group.
You can do that by going to the group homepage,
http://groups.google.com/group/ALHS1979 and clicking "Invite members"
or just email them the group link and ask them to join.
I have the group set up to allow any member to create pages which
should allow you to create an html page. If anyone has the desire to
do something like that go for it. Pages could be lists of favorite
songs (maybe that we could try to have played at the reunion),
family pictures, high school memories, pretty much anything.
If anyone out there likes scrap booking you might check out this site:
http://scrapblog.com.
Maybe you could start a scrapbook there and send us the link.
Well, that's enough for now. I do appreciate reading the email from
the people who have joined so far and look forward to having a few
hundred people here.

I have invited several people to join the group who have not joined.
I'm not sure why. I was wondering if maybe it has something to do
with the group being
so open (public). I can change the settings so that only members can
read and only people
who are invited can join.

Don't feel too beat up as I contacted a couple of dozen people on
Classmates (signed up for the free 7 days) and notified them of the
new google group. I have received only 2 responses. My guess is is
that the e-mail addresses are not current. Hopefully we can spread
the word through our small network that seems to be growing!
