Reunion

Dear ALHS Classmates,

In case you have not yet heard we have a date and location for our reunion.

Date: August 8th
Time: Probably 6:00 PM to 12:30 AM
Place: Central Park Building (NW corner of Milliken and Baseline)
Dress: Simi-Formal (or whatever you want)
Cost: $20 per person (or less, to be determined)

We are inviting people from the classes of 1976 through 1982.
You can help us by spreading the word and pointing people to our
Facebook group,
or one of our other groups (see below).

It might also be nice to invite some teachers.

If you haven't noticed the Yahoo Group and the Google Group are both
pretty inactive.
For better or worse we have been using Facebook quite a bit. It seems
to work pretty
well for this kind of networking. Facebook is free so I prefer it
over classmates.com which is
irritatingly crippled unless you pay for a membership.

Hey Darryl,

Who's idea was it to invite so many classes together? I can understand classes from 78 and 80 but 7 years of class mates the most of us won't even know. For me I don't think it will be fun, a few others I spoke to as well agree, but that’s only my thoughts . So I don't believe I will be attending , but have fun anyway and good luck .

I would expect the attendance distribution of classes to approximate a normal distribution centered about 1979 (with each class representing 1 sigma). This means 67% of the attendees will be from 1979, 97% will be from 1978 to 1980 combined, and about 3% will be from the other four classes.

I am focusing on inviting people from 1979 and there are a handful of people that I am looking forward to seeing from other classes (for example Joy Showalter and Pam Spence both 1981)

I would only expect people from other classes to attend if they had friends in our class who were also attending.

Marty Herrick Wallace is working on the class of '80 and Kim Moore Meek is working on the class of '78. No one is working on the other classes.

I see this as a great opportunity to find a person that you knew in HS that you would like to see again and invite them (regardless of class) We may not have many more chances to do this.

So I appeal to anyone think of skipping this event, don't! You will be sorely missed by me and everyone who was looking forward to seeing you.

If after reading this note, that I typed on my phone, in a mere 30 minutes, you still are not wanting to attend, please give me a call (909) 648-1508.

I really do want this to be the greatest for all classmates.

I too think it is a great idea to invite the other classes to this event. Thank you Darryl for making the time and taking the effort to plan this! I am trying my best to clear my schedule so that I may attend.

I'm not trying to start anything negative , every ones hard work is appreciated. And what you wrote makes sense. I'm sure all that attends will have a good time. If your numbers and % pans out, then especially it makes sense. I'm a nobody and my opinion doesn't matter , its what you the majority want that truly matters. I hope everyone has a blast seeing their old friends, but for me if I go , I'll be waiting the last minute to decide. Thanks for  all your dedication again.
