Alaska Masters Swimmers, while members of SWAM of are still reeling from the news, it occurred to me that long-time AKMS swimmer Anne Nevaldine may have touched others in our community. Annie died January 8. Her service will be this coming Sunday.

While in college, Annie was invited by a friend to try swimming. She did not come from an athletic family, but she gave it a try. She swam ever since.

She epitomized masters swimming; continuing to grow and learn all these years. She was a delight to coach; always willing to learn. And she encouraged all who swam with her. She made a big splash in our lives and will be greatly missed.
