Dear AFH supporters,
As you may imagine out San Diego and Los Angeles Chapters are currently on the ground responding to the fires that have left thousands of homes destroyed these last few days. We're starting an appeal to support their work and help with
reconstruction.
We've started a project on the Open Architecture Network. You can see what
San Diego is doing:
http://www.openarchitecturenetwork.org/node/1245
Also anyone in the San Diego region who wants to help the chapter is holding a meeting regarding long term response on Sunday, October 28th, 2007 @ 11:00 a.m.
Gelato Vera Café-Upstairs
3753 India Street
San Diego, CA
If you have questions or want to RSVP please email
rebuild...@gmail.com or log on to the San Diego chapter site @ http://www.afhsd-rebuild.org/
AFH Los Angeles is currently local contacts at the Red Cross to find, support and respond to adequate temporary housing needs.
We'd love it if you could share this link with some of your colleagues and support our work to bring people home. We're moving today into our new offices in SF believe it or not. So, our internet access will be down the rest of the
week...hence my appeal to spread the word...
Finally, we have started an appeal to support both these chapters in the long term rebuilding of community facilities. If you can't make it down to help and want to support their efforts with a tax deductible financial contribution, please
log on to our site and click on the donate button under the SoCal appeal. If you know, or work for, any of the big name LA architects - try to convince them to pitch in....
Cheers,
Cameron Sinclair
