It's time to get together & dicuss plans for 2011. Even though the Ankeny Dog Park is officially open, there are still funds to be raised for future improvements.
The Big Item on our Agenda is whether to hold events this summer. If so, where - Chips and/or Dog Park - and when. And more, importantly, WHO is ready, willing & able to get involved in the planning & implementation?!
So - bring your creativity & enthusiasm as we discuss these opportunities and MORE!
Again - the meeting is Tuesday, May 10, 6 p.m. at Chips in Ankeny.
PLEASE LET ME KNOW by next Sunday, May 8:
a) If you can attend, so we can ensure we have enough space at Chips.
b) If you can not attend but would like to be involved in activities this summer.

Meeting Purpose: 2011 Status Report & Summer Plans
Status Report:
· Dog Park passes – @ 800 to date ($25/dog for residents; $35/dog for non-residents with proof of vaccinations; passes valid through Dec. 2011.) Other Ideas – metro pass; capital fund
· Dog Park Flower Bed – planting Sat. May 14 ~ 11:30 a.m. Volunteers welcome!
· Shelter Installation/Sponsor – footings to be poured soon; installation to follow pending $15k sponsorship (June?).
· Display Case & Brick Installation – upon shelter completion; 111 total bricks with 31 designated for memorial area; stay tuned
· Pond Aerator & Walking Path – both designated improvements pending funding
Summer Plans: Events or no events?
Bark & Brews at Chips? Dog Park Etiquette or other events on-site at Dog Park? Barktoberfest at Chips?
Possible Dates
· June 11, July 16 or 23 – Ankeny Bark-N-Brews at Chips?
· July 9 – SummerFest Parade
· July 10 – WoofStock (ARL)
· Aug X – Ankeny Pooch Paddle – volunteer for extended hours & $?
· Oct. 8 – 4th annual Barktoberfest at Chips?
