Hello again, Ankeny Dog Park fans!
We're gearing up for MORE good stuff at the Dog Park and wanted to let you in on it! Please join us:
- May 30: Committee Meeting at Chips, 6:30 p.m. - This will be a planning meeting to discuss our upcoming Open House at the Dog Park on June 9, as well as other upcoming events and ideas. If you'd like to get more involved in the Dog Park, this is a great opportunity - and FUN too!! At the Open House, we'll need volunteers to help set up, greet guests, sell passes, etc. We will also be looking for donated hot dogs, bottled water, prizes, etc. Even if you can't help out, we hope you
can attend! (Please rsvp to me by Tuesday, May 29, so we have a head count. Thx!)
- June 9: Open House - Please see the link to our flyer for event highlights! In addition to our usual fun & games, guests will be able to meet adoptables from the ARL, Iowa Weimaraner, Hounds Haven Basset Rescue, Upper Midwest Great Dane Rescue, and other area rescue groups. A limited supply of 2012 Dog Park passes will be available for purchase with proof of rabies vaccinations, city license and cash or check for the exact amount. Pawsitively Pampered will be offering $10 nail trims, and photographers will be on hand to capture special "candid camera" moments for our very own Dog Park photo calendar in 2013
- June 16: Dog Park Behavior education - take #2! If you missed the first class in our NEW Dog Park Behavior education series - it's not too late! This program is designed to help you understand canine communication, recognize body language and signals, plus learn appropriate behaviors and responses to ensure a positive Dog Park experience! Our next session is June 16 at Canine Craze Performance Center; this class is a pre-requisite for the July 14 session.
