To All Pet Owners and Ankeny Dog Park Season Pass Holders:
Thank you for being responsible pet owners and for supporting the Ankeny Dog Park! This letter is your
official season license renewal
notification. Your current pet license and dog park pass expires December
31 and you will need to purchase new ones for 2013. Prices will remain the same: $10 for the pet licenses and $25 for residents/$35 for non-residents for
the dog park pass.
The 2013 licenses are
on-sale as soon as you receive this letter. Both pet licenses and dog park
passes will be sold at the Parks & Recreation Department, 210 South Ankeny
Blvd. or City Hall, 410 West First Street . New this year is the sale of pet
licenses and dog park passes at the Ankeny Hy-Vee customer service desk, which
allows you to purchase during the evening hours and weekends! Special thanks to
Hy-Vee for their support and partnership. If purchased at Hy-Vee the pass price
will be $26/$36 respectively plus $11 for the pet license. The City of Ankeny
will mail your pass and license which you will receive a few days after
purchase. The extra dollar covers the mailing expense. Hy-Vee will also sell
the $5 daily pass to the dog park.
Much
like last year, if your dog park pass is purchased between now and December 31,
2012, we will discount $5 off the price. Remember a pass to the Dog Park makes
a great stocking stuffer as we head toward the Christmas Season!
Linked in this email, you will find the 2013 pet forms.
Please thoroughly complete all information on the application form and bring in
when you purchase your pet licenses/dog park pass. The City of Ankeny and Ankeny Dog Park Task Force continue
to be pleased with the condition, improvements, and use of the park. We hope
you have enjoyed your season at the Dog Park and are looking forward to 2013
with your four-legged friend.
Unfortunately, as is
the case with any pass based system, we have had some people use the Dog Park
without the season pass. In 2013 we will institute a Dog Park Ambassador’s
Program. Anyone willing to be an Ambassador will receive their pass for 2013 at
no charge. A limited number of these spots are available, so please email me at
tred...@ankenyiowa.gov or call
963-3571 so I can provide you more information on the Ambassador’s program. It
will be a fun way to spend time at the park, meet the patrons, answer
questions, and insure pass compliance. The City of Ankeny looks forward to seeing you at the Dog Park in 2013
and as a reminder, take advantage of the $5 off and renew your park pass
today! We are looking forward to a great
2013 season at the Ankeny Dog Park.
Sincerely,
Todd Redenius, Director of Parks & Recreation
Pam DeMouth, City Clerk
