Barktoberfest Planning Mtg - Sept. 7!

Hey everybody!
 
It's that time of year again ... the State Fair is over, school has begun, and Barktoberfest is just around the corner!
 
If you are interested in getting involved with the Ankeny Dog Park, we encourage you to attend this meeting - Weds., Sept. 7, 6 p.m. at Chips Restaurant in Ankeny!
 
Barktoberfest is scheduled for Sat., Oct. 8, from 1:00-5:00 p.m. at Chips.
 
Items on our Agenda include:

• Sponsors/Event Partners - new opportunities for involvement?
• Promotion - flyer distribution, etc.
• T-Shirts - to do, or not to do??
• Activities - in addition to agility, do we want to try and add something new - like field trial demos, lure coursing, search & rescue?
• Contests - stick with Cake Walk, Hot Dog Bob, Costume, Look-A-Like, Largest/Smallest?
• Prizes - need to round up prizes for contest winners, as well as raffle prizes
• Volunteers - we'll need several on event day (registration, contests, raffle, etc.), as well as a volunteer coordinator to schedule =) 

 
These are the basics ... we could really use some help and would love to see some new faces in addition to our "regulars."
 
Even if you can't join us at the meeting or participate in the event, we'd welcome your ideas!

Just a friendly reminder that our Barktoberfest planning meeting is this Weds., Sept. 7, at 6pm!
Please let me know if you can make it so we have enough room at Chips.
Not only will we be looking for input, we'll need volunteers to help with flyer distribution, prize donations, on-site set-up, raffles & games.
Hope you can join us and pitch in - it's our favorite and biggest event of the year!! =)
