Thanks to one of our "astute" paddlers - Ruth - we became aware of issues at Owasco Flats.....So .....we're changing our paddle location on Monday to Oak Island (Waterloo). We'll meet at the Oak Island Community Center, located at Oak St. in Waterloo. There
is a concrete pad for launching and I believe there are bathrooms there. We'll paddle about 5 miles on the Seneca River to Seneca Lake St. Park where we'll have our lunch. Then return to our put in. This is not a difficult paddled! It is fairly protected
from wind.
This paddle is from 10:00 - ? (probably about 3:00) Bring your lunch and lots of hydration.
We'll be watching the weather - right now the prediction is thunderstorms but hopefully it'll change by Monday.
Of course, there's ice cream after to keep "someone" happy.
There are directions on the
adk-gvc.org website if you need more information. If you put "oak island, Waterloo" in your Maps, or GPS it comes up.
Have a great weekend everyone. Remember, if you don't have anything to do on Saturday come over to the paddle fest in Geneva and help out for a bit. (11:00 - 4:00) Bring your boat if you like and help in the water if you want to paddle. (information canter
at end of lake - rt5/20)
