Just in case you haven't checked the calendar in the past few days - Jim Bird has a paddle this Thursday (July 1) at Skaneateles Lake.....it sounds like a real nice one and the weather is looking a bit cooler.
He'll launch in a small town park at the very south end of the lake. You may need to pay to launch fee there, but in the past this has not always been the case. The drive to the launch is about 1.5 hours. You'll meet at Busnell's Basin Park-and-ride at 8:00am.
Bring lunch, change of clothes, rain gear, water, and snacks.
You'll paddle about 11 miles round trip or a bit farther if the winds allow. To paddle this trip you will need to be able to average at least 3 miles/hour on the water. Note: if Bushnell's Basin is inconvenient for you as a meeting spot let Jim know - he
can make some changes.
You must send Jim an email at
birdj...@gmail.com if you plan to attend, or have questions.
*as a point of reference - Monday paddles are about 2.5 miles per hour for 2 hours.
