2022 Winter Holiday Boot Camp Monday 11 July - Thursday 14 July

If you enjoy playing chess and are looking for something fun to do over the Winter school holidays, the ACTJCL is inviting you to participate in the Winter Holiday Boot Camp from 11 July to 14 July at Campbell High School. This is a great opportunity to learn from some of ACT’s best coaches and experience various formats of chess conditions. New players will learn how to use clocks, and the rules of the event on the day. Pizza lunch can be ordered on the day, and various snacks are available for purchase. More details can be found in the attached flyers.

Tuesday 12 July	Allegro Event	15 minutes per move	$30*
Wednesday 13 - Thursday 14 July	Long Time Control Event	60 minutes + 10 secs per move	$60*

*If you book for all four days in advance, you can secure a $10 discount via TryBooking. 

Prizes will be awarded on the day for the best performers and additional prizes are subject to receiving entries early. More information can be found in the attached flyers and you can register for the event via https://www.trybooking.com/CABXK.

• 2022 Winter Holiday Boot Camp Monday 11 July - Thursday 14 July

• 2022 ANU Open and Minor (open to adults and juniors) Friday 29 July - Sunday 31 July

ANU Open/Minor 2022 29-31 July 

The ACT Chess Association presents the 2022 ANU Open and Minor (Under 1600) events, which is open to adults and juniors. The event will be run over three days and you are able to request byes if you are unable to attend the entire event. 

 

Schedule

Round 1 Friday 29th 7PM,

Round 2 Sat 30th 10am, Rd 3 2pm, Round 4, 6pm

Round 5 Sun 31st 10am, Round 6 2pm Prize giving 6pm

Entry Fee: $80 ($60 concession) - GM, IM, WGM and WIM Free

Prizes: $1000 1st Open, $400 1st Minor $3600 in total

Venue: ANU School of Art, Childers St Acton (NB Venue still to be confirmed. The alternative venue is Campbell High School, Treloar Cres, Campbell ACT).

Note: We will be in the Campbell High School Library (at the bottom of the outdoor stairs from the reception). Pizza lunch orders can be made on the morning of the event with cash. The lunch order costs $7 per person and includes pizza and a drink.
