On the first day of our Boot Camp, participants spent the morning getting coaching in ability-based groups and the afternoon was an 11 round blitz event (5 minutes each).
Masaki Horikawa (Kaleen Primary School) was the winner of the 2022 Autumn Boot Camp Blitz with an astounding 10 out of 11.

The JETS Squad is Australia’s premier development squad
Applicants are judged by commitment and improvement, as well as rating, with a loading for applicants aged 14 and under. A maximum of 30 players will be selected, with at least a third of squad members being of each gender. Two places will be reserved for juniors from New Zealand.
Eligibility for the Squad has no prerequisite tournaments this year.
The selected members of the 2022 JETS Squad must commit to attend the JETS national junior training camp, to be held entirely online from July 4 to July 7.
The camp will consist of online lectures by local and international Grandmasters and International Masters. At least one lecture will be open to all JETS applicants.

The ACT Junior Chess League will hold a members-only simul with Grandmaster Hrant Melkumyan at 3pm on Sunday 8th May at Campbell High School.

As this event is limited to twenty participants, we are taking applications from ACT juniors (born 2004 or later) who meet the below eligibility criteria.
