Chess Clocks will be used but you don’t need to write down your moves. All children who can confidently make all the basic moves of chess are encouraged to participate.

On Sunday the 23rd of September, 16 players competed in the 2024 ACT Under-8 and Under-10 championships. Exactly half of the field were born after the 2016 cut-off and eligible for the under-8 titles. Thanks to those players who made long journeys to attend the tournament, and congratulations to all the prize winners.

I'd also like to thank Aden Power for running the event on Sunday and for those who helped ensure the event ran smoothly.
