2023 Summer Holiday Boot Camp - Monday 9 to Thursday 12 January


At the Summer Holiday Boot Camp, participants are able to partake in three different types of chess formats and receive top quality coaching from some of ACT's best coaches. You are welcome to join us for one day, or for all four days and receive a $10 discount when you book and pay in advance. See attached flyer or the below link for more details. This is a great opportunity to get some practice before Australia's biggest junior event of the year, the 2023 Australian Junior Chess Championships in Melbourne.

Hi all

On behalf of ACTJCL, I wanted to wish you all a safe and happy holiday season.  I hope you all have a great break and we look forward to seeing you all in the New Year.

I have included a notice below in relation to events over the January school holidays and an event this Saturday that will be run by the ACT Chess Association that is open to adults and juniors. Make sure you check it out!

    2022 ACT Rapidplay Championship - Saturday 17 December (not an ACTJCL event)

    The ACT Chess Association is hosting the 2022 ACT Rapidplay Championship is being held on the 17th December 2022 at 11am at King O'Malley's, City Walk, Canberra. The tournament is open to adults and juniors. We encourage our younger juniors to have adult supervision at all times during the event. 

    Details are:

    Venue - King O'Malley's, City Walk, Canberra ACT (inside City Walk Arcade if it is raining)

    Date - 17 December 2022 11:00am (Entries from 10:30am to 10:55 am)

    Entry Fee - $10 adults, $5 juniors (under 18)

    Prizes - $150 1st + other prizes ($350 in prizes were awarded in 2021)

    Rounds - 7

    Time control - G/15m
