ACTJCL Volunteer of the Year - Mirabelle Guo

After almost 20 years of volunteering at ACTJCL, Mirabelle will be stepping down from ACTJCL activities at the end of this year. Over the course of this time, Mirabelle has likely helped organise and assist with hundreds of chess tournaments, activities and club events. If it were not for her health and mobility, I am sure she would have loved to continue helping out with events for the ACTJCL. 

Thank you to Mirabelle for her efforts and her continued efforts after her children stopped participating in ACTJCL events. I know the kids will miss having you at the events and catering all sorts of fun treats for them to enjoy! Wishing you all the best in your chess administration retirement.

2025 Norths Chess Club - TBC

ACTJCL will need to make a further announcement on the future of Norths Chess Club (announcement planned for some time in January). With a few volunteers/coaches stepping down, we are looking for new volunteers and coaches to assist with running the chess club. As part of these considerations, we will also be considering whether to establish chess clubs in other locations e.g. Gungahlin. 

If you are interested in volunteering or coaching, please reach out and we would be happy to discuss further. 

   

Summer Holiday Boot Camp 2025 - Tuesday 21 January to Friday 24 January

At the ACT Junior Summer Holiday Boot Camp, participants are able to partake in three different chess formats and receive top quality coaching from some of ACT's best coaches. You are welcome to join us for one day, or for all four days and receive a $10 discount when you book and pay in advance. See attached flyer or the below link for more details.
