I spoke with a new financial advisor earlier. We didn't go too much
in depth about the specifics of my finances or the specifics of his
expertise yet. He wants to meet at his office for that. Today, he
just wanted to get a feel for my philosophy about money, what kinds
of things I want to do with money, and what I'm comfortable with. He
asked me where I want to be in 3 years, how I grew up, i.e. if we
were comfortable or if there were any hardships, etc.. He also asked
what my strong/weak points are. Since my ultimate goal is financial
freedom, I suppose my answers gave away my true purpose. He asked me
if I was familiar with Robert Kiyosaki's ideas. Well, we all know
the answer to that. He then invited us all to his next cashflow
game. He and others meet every 2nd Thursday of the month for
Cashflow. The next one will be on April 12, and he will send me
information via email, which I will pass on to you all..
Basically, we didn't get into numbers, but I feel like I'm on the
same page with this guy. I'm not looking for one thing like just
retirement, or just building a portfolio, but I am looking into
exploring different vehicles to reach one goal, and I got a good
vibe from this man, so we'll see where it goes from here.
