Hello Friends, and welcome to my news!

Fellowship Leave 2026-2027

In this season of gratitude, I’m delighted to share that I’ve been awarded a 2026–2027 Fellowship Leave from Queensborough CC at the City University of New York (CUNY). I’m deeply thankful to my students and colleagues for this milestone and excited for what the year ahead will bring. My final solo show before the leave took place at the Queensborough Performing Arts Center (QPAC), where I had the joy of performing with some of my favorite New York musicians. Now I’m embarking on a long‑dreamed‑of large‑scale project (TBA!), while remaining open to collaborations, lectures, curatorial work, and cultural exchanges. So keep your studio windows open — I just might fly by!

Performances at the Metropolitan Museum in New York

The explosively musical violinist Lavinia Pavlish plays one of my early signature pieces BEFORE AND AFTER THE TEKKE for violin and electronic sound with much sensitivity and grace. Come hear her perform it in her enchanting set of live music as part of special programming at the Met. Bring a friend, a partner, or enjoy a solo evening of live music and drinks, surrounded by 5,000 years of art!

Performances in Bosnia and Herzegovina & Croatia

It is my great pleasure to announce four upcoming concerts featuring the dynamic Bosnian-Herzegovinian pianist Bartolomej Stanković. He will perform my THE PERIOD OF FORGETTING (Period Zaborava) for piano solo and magnetic tape, within a program dedicated to the late composer Josip Magdić. Joining the program are esteemed colleagues — and, like myself, some of Magdić’s former students — Mladen Miličević, Frano Djurović, Ališer Sijarić, and Valentina Dutina. If you are in the region, I warmly invite you to attend and share in this celebration of music and memory.

Unraveling the Linear on Albany Records

Thrilled to share the release of Sylvan Winds’ new CD Resonant Worlds, arriving December 5, 2025! The album features my piece UNRAVELING THE LINEAR for wind quintet and electronic sound, alongside works by Elizabeth Brown, Aleksandra Vrebalov, and Stephanie Griffin All of the pieces were commissioned by Sylvan, with the recording made possible through Chamber Music America’s Artistic Projects Grants. You can find out more about Unraveling the Linear HERE and Pre-save the album HERE. Please consider supporting this imaginative and timely project HERE.

New Lyric Video

Subscribe to my YouTube channel and watch the video HERE.

This piece, near and dear to my heart, was created in collaboration with poet Tim Norris of Northeastern University. Originally conceived as an installation, it was commissioned by The Revolving Museum in Boston, Massachusetts. After numerous performances and inclusion on my album EVOLUTION (2014), the work has now been reimagined as a lyric video by mixupnyc, and brought to life with the poetic, visceral imagery of video artist Igor Molochevsky. I invite you to experience OVER WATER, OVER STONE.

Thank you for reading, and happy Thanksgiving!

Cheers.
