Hi all,
I am looking to add something exciting for kids to the Bookmobile in 2026.  I have lightly researched Yoto, Tonies, Voxblock, and WhaZoodle.  Does anyone have input to share with me on these types of devices?
I was an elementary school librarian prior to being a Bookmobile librarian and had quite a collection on Vox Books. I liked using them in the library, but circulating them was difficult. Expecting parents to pay for damaged books was a lot to ask.
I want something a bit sturdier and longer lasting for the Bookmobile.
Any thoughts and suggestions are welcome!

Hi Tanya,

We love Vox/WonderBooks in our system. They circulate extremely well. The one tricky part is their shape which can make it difficult to shelve, especially on a moving vehicle!

This great conversation inspired me to ask my colleague Jessica, who operates our bookmobile for preschoolers, what she collects and uses, because while I've added these types of materials to my library collection in previous positions, I haven't since starting with the bookmobile last year. She also uses Vox books and Wonderbooks and says, "I got two wooden dish rack thingies to hold them up on the shelf because with the play pack, they don't stand up well on the shelf if you have several." Hope that's helpful! Definitely thinking about adding some to my collection.
