Dear Outreach/Bookmobile Managers,
I hope this message finds you well. I am reaching out to gather information about ongoing and refresher training practices for bookmobile drivers, particularly for those who do not hold a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
Specifically, I am interested in learning:
- What types of refresher training do you provide for non-CDL drivers?
- Do you conduct annual compliance training for drivers?
- Does your insurance provider require any form of refresher or safety training?
- What procedures are followed when a driver has been involved in multiple accidents within a year?
Additionally, I’ve observed local school bus drivers performing maneuverability exercises in parking lots. I’d appreciate any insights or experiences you can share regarding this type of hands-on training.
As librarians are required to complete a set number of professional development hours annually, do you apply a similar requirement for your drivers to ensure ongoing skill development and safety awareness?
Thank you in advance for your time and any information you’re able to share. I look forward to learning from your experiences and best practices.
