Title  3. Organization Join us @ City Hall on 6/17 @ 11am as we present our letter!  The Honorable Lori Lightfoot Mayor of the City of Chicago   Dear Mayor Lightfoot: This letter is sent to request that you would publicly state that fired former police officer ROBERT RIALMO, the killer of BETTIE JONES and QUINTONIO LEGRIER is BANNED FROM ANY CITY EMPLOYMENT. While awaiting the results of Chicago Police Department investigations into his conduct, Rialmo was charged with participating in two bar fights with civilians, further tarnishing the image and reputation of his profession. Rialmo’s eventual firing was upheld by the Chicago Police Board on October 17, 2019 after the Civilian Office of Police Accountability found that his actions were unjustified and in violation of department policy in the double homicide of Jones and LeGrier on December 26, 2015.    On November 21, 2019, the Chicago Sun-Times reported that Rialmo’s attorneys have filed suit to have him returned to his employment with the Chicago Police Department. Rialmo has also been reported to have stated that he would consider employment as a Chicago fireman, as if city employment is his birthright. These attitudes and actions are tragically unrepentant and morally repugnant. We do not have to remind you of the mood of our nation and world in this season of moral outrage in the filmed police murder of George Floyd.    We cannot fight for justice and radical police reform in Minneapolis without fighting for the same in Chicago, a city we love but a city that also has been an epicenter of police abuse against citizens of color. Our request is that you send another strong signal.
