Hello Saints!

Happy 8th week everyone!  I hope that you're continually pursing after all things good!  Even though projects and finals are coming up quickly, remember this "Be still and know that I am God".  He truly is in control and simply desires our surrender so that He may reign supremely in our lives.  Psalms 73:26 says "My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever."  May your life wholly reflect Jesus this week! 
 
LARGE GROUP
This week Toby Yuen from Bay Area Chinese Bible Church, will be coming to speak on "The Parable of the Unforgiving Servant"  Be sure to come with your hearts prepared to hear the Word, and practically apply what you hear to your life.  This week we'll be having an OFFERING specifically for BIBLES for AACF.  Please prayerfully consider either DONATING new/used bibles you own, or donating financially at Large Group.  We meet in UU220 at 730pm, see you there!

PLAY DAY aka BRO'S APPRECIATION!
Everyone is welcome, so invite your friends too!  We'll be going out to Grover Beach this Saturday May 24th.  It'll be a sweet time of fun filled games, bbq and more!  Find out details at Large Group this week.

SERVICE AUCTION for MISSIONS
Praise the Lord! We raised about $1300 this weekend by your services.  Thank you for your heart to support our summer missionaries both through prayer and finances!  If you haven't paid, please bring cash or check (payable to Asian American Christian Fellowship) to Large Group this Friday!

PRAYER OUTREACH DEBRIEF
The Prayer Outreach Ministry will be having a debrief meeting this week.  It has been a few weeks since we started to go out into the campus praying for people and we would love to hear how God used all of us.  So join us this Tuesday, 7PM at the Duplex A for a time of sharing and encouragement!  Even if you haven't taken part in the Prayer Outreach Ministry, feel free to join us and be encouraged by your brothers and sisters!

SHOEBOX DINNERS
We'll be having a shoebox dinner fundraiser BEFORE LG next week (5/30).  Everyone is to decorate a shoebox [or something of that sort] and make it really pretty--the more pretty and beautiful, the more people will want to bid on it!! Next, place some type of meal in the box--it can be pb&j, a burrito, in&out...taco bell, anything you'd like!! be creative! the people bidding will not be able to see what they are bidding on, just taking their chances. you will also have to write up a poem to go with the box--it can be a simple cute poem, or it can be creative and crazy!! even a rap!! sometimes there's hints about the meal. The person running the auction will be reading each poem as we auction off one box at a time. 

We'll be having a fundraiser to raise money for maxine lewis memorial shelter.  There will also be a benefit concert "UNIFY" to promote this fundraising on May 31st, find out more information at LG this week!. 

SENIOR BANQUET
It's time SAVE THE DATE for this year's Senior Banquet on Friday, June 6, 2008.  Doors open at 5:15pm.  The theme is "Black and White Ball", so be sure to dress accordingly!  Feel free to invite friends as well! :)

SMALL GROUPS

PRAYER
Come to prayer on Monday, Wednesday, Friday mornings 7:30-830am in UU 219.& Friday's before Large Group at 6:30pm in UU216  It's a sweet time to pray for Cal Poly with other ministries on campus.  God is capable of moving through prayer, do you believe that God seeks to save every soul lost here?  Do you really understand the power of prayer?!  Let's pray in faith and let the Lord bless us!
