Where would I find mbr and pbs binaries which would know to load
9bootfat? Or ones which would present a menu, I guess, but a menu seems
a lot for maybe 700 bytes of code.

/386/mbr
/386/pbs

bootblocks are non interactive, they just load 9bootfat and start it.

... but 9bootfat has a command line.

see 9boot(8)

Thanks. Someone in #cat-v told me where to find them, but I had to copy
the source out of the iso and mk to actually get the binaries. They're
not (or weren't[1]) on the iso.
