A bunch of @97tepsk tweets this morning inspired me to remind you: Now that it's out, tweet, blog, hold the book up at conferences, etc.! One of the reasons this kind of book works is that we have an army (60-some) of developers to spread the word. Word-of-mouth marketing is much more powerful than anything we can appear to do.

My copy still hasn't showed up in Sweden. How are other europeans doing? You got it yet?

Kind regards
Niclas

Mine arrived in Boston Feb 19 or 20. I ended up getting a second copy
from Amazon for my office.
There is probably an interesting (though not very useful)
visualization to be made out of "days since publication to arrive" v
"geographic location of author" ... :)

Hmmm. Bookstore distribution of anything technical has become really spotty. The one good tech bookstore in San Francisco closed a year or so ago.

If you want to take about a 90 minute trip up north, you could go to our office in Sebastopol. Not much to see at the office itself, but you can buy the book, then stop at some wineries in the area.

I still miss my copy too.

Call any Borders bookstore and ask if they have it. If not ask them to
check nearby stores. I tried checking for you online but they search
by zip code and SF has around 30. I know they carry it because I
searched my zip and found that two of the dozen plus stores listed
have it in stock.

Good luck on the search,
Burk

Borders off Union sq has 5 copies (now 4), but they were in the
basement. Someone had to dig them out.

Something like that :^)

We'll find out later this month in Oslo:
http://xp.meetup.com/13/calendar/12703961/

And, hopefully, we'll organise something like this in London (through
the ACCU) in the near future.

I'm speaking tomorrow at DevNexus in Atlanta and in addition to
showing the cover as part of the "Who am I?" slide, I've got some
copies of the book to give to people attending the talk. That should
give us a boost in awareness!

I will flaunt my copy and mention about the book during my Qpid talk
in Toronto today.
I've already mentioned about this in the fedora blog and planet apache
with one person saying he will buy a copy :)

... and in case you did not know, there is a release party for the
book in Oslo, Norway next monday. Nearly 300 geeks have
signed up so far, and the plan is to run a series of lightning talks
presented by the authors of several chapters in the book.
Kevlin will also be there to ask questions between the
talks:

http://xp.meetup.com/13/calendar/12703961/

I hereby encourage other geek communities out there to
do something similar.
