I have recieved a suspicious e-mail through the list.

It looks like one that tries to lure the recipient into clicking on a link.

Did you get this too?

Yes. I've reported the message as spam and banned the user. However,
as it's probably bot-based that will likely not have an enduring
effect if the source is determined and trawls through lists to find
ones that have open subscription and are unmoderated. If it happens
again I may change the group settings so that I have to approve
subscribers.

The approve all from my own experience stinks - if the system allows manual
adding that might be better - spares your inbox and bots get nowhere :)
