Good afternoon,

As part of the ongoing efforts to identify victims of the World Trade Center attacks, the City of New York began a multi-agency sifting operation on Monday, April 1, 2013, to carefully evaluate and search material that may contain human remains recovered at the World Trade Center Site since 2010. This operation is being conducted at a forensic mobile sifting platform at Fresh Kills in Staten Island.

As in the past, my office will coordinate a visit for family members who have requested to observe the current efforts. We have scheduled the visit for Wednesday, May 22nd at 2pm. If you wish to join the site visit, please contact Laura Henriksen in my office at 911family...@cityhall.nyc.gov or by phone at 212.442.8953.

If you are interested in attending, please RSVP by close of business Monday either by email at 911familyquestions.nyc.gov or phone at 212.442.8953.

Sincerely,

Nazli Parvizi
Commissioner | Community Affairs Unit
