Associate
Professor Glenn Corbett of John Jay College has been named the 2012 Man of the
Year for many reasons:
For the past 10+ years he has not only
supported the 9/11 families and the victims, but he has also provided all of
us with knowledge, support, direction and skill.
Glenn has been in attendance at every rally,
march, and press conference, addressing the many issues that the families have
faced over the years.
He has continuously advocated for fire safety
improvements in high-rise buildings as well as advances in emergency response
and communications through his Congressional testimony, 9/11 Commission
testimony, and his position on the federal advisory committee to the National
Institute of Standards and Technology in its investigation of the World Trade
Center disaster.
Glenn is humble, kind and very
knowledgeable. His wisdom and interest in finding the truth drives us all.
We are proud to call him our friend and are honored to
present this award to him.
