This is a catchy swinging song that would be a great feature for a baritone soloist. It very much fits into our current repertoire of generally acoustic or rock songs by men. It would add a variety in the solos we have currently. We also haven't done very many bluesier or folksier songs, so this would round out our sound a little more I think. On the album version, there are also some interesting instrumental sounds accompanying the acoustic guitars as well as an active clap/ snap part the entire time for rhythm which we don't utilize that much currently. That would be fun to incorporate.

It's not popular, but it's not obscure. It's George's second-biggest single after Budapest, so a decent amount of people have probably heard it before. The song is very feel good and rhythmic along with having a great hook ("what you waiting for?") right before the more explosive vocals on the chorus, so the audience would get into it and might start clapping with [which I personally think is annoying as fuck because they get off of the beat, but whatever haha].

His Live Version is in a lower key than The Studio Version

The studio version's traveling bassline is too low for the Bass section, so maybe the live version with the basses up an octave would be a better fit? Not sure, but just some thoughts.

This song and Cassy O' sound incredibly similar to me (in the same vain that all the beach songs I suggest sound similar), and I just have the same problem with the percussion.

Other than that, I just have to mention that it would be a challenge, I think, for me to arrange it, although I can't speak for Todd. But that's a good thing, because comfort zones are not good to stay in, if you will.

I wouldn't mind doing either of these songs, as long as we arranged them with percussion or lack thereof in mind.

Yeah, they're definitely highly related. The main difference is how upbeat and punchy Cassy O' is and Blame It On Me has snaps and claps throughout which negates the keeping in rhythm issue I think. Again, I don't think traditional perc would sound good like you were thinking as well, so very rhythmic and distinct (like consonants) backing vocal parts would be a major plus while arranging.

Cecilia doesn't have any perc so we could do something like that, more focused on harmony than anything else.

I think this song would be perfect, and I think if we do it soon we can catch it just on the verge of becoming more popular.  After they released Budapest as a single and got a positive radio response they started making the same moves with this song, ie they are working this song into pop radio rotation.

I agree 100%. I thought I recognized the title, and I've definitely heard this on the radio recently. I think it's an awesome song, and will finally give us something current and recognizable, a place we're always lacking.
