肝腎之間關係極為密切，有肝腎同源之說。肝藏血，腎藏精，藏血與藏精之間的關係，實際上是精與血之間存在著相互滋生和相互轉化的關係。血的化生，有賴於腎中精氣的氣化；腎中精氣的充盛，亦有賴於血液的滋養。所以說精能生血，血能化精，稱之為精血同源。
The critical close interrelationship of Liver and Kidney turns out to
be a classic "liver and kidney sharing the same origin". The Liver
stores the Blood and the Kidneys store the Essence (Jing), however,
the solid ground is that the relationship of "Storing the Blood" and
"Storing the Essence" lies in mutual growth and development as well as
mutual transformation between the Essence and the Blood. The
transformation of the Blood relys on the heat provided by the essence
of Qi in the Kidney; while the replenishment of Kidney essence of Qi
is achieved through nourishment of the Blood. For all these reasons,
it is considered that Essence is able to transform into Blood,
henceforth the Blood is being transformed into the Essence.That is
saying, "Essence and Blood sharing the same origin".
觸診中，tender是表示質韌還是質軟啊？
但是在英國，老百姓嘴裡的tender是對肌肉緊張，酸痛感的一種粗略概括。醫學上的解釋應該是韌感而非軟。
