 Dear Mr.Swag

I am talking to this really cool person on a chatroom. We talk almost daily and are getting really close.
Although he doesn't tell me much about himself, I feel that we are perfect for each other. He understands all my
feelings and really cares about me. The great thing is that we both live in the same town too... well, that's what he says.
He really wants to meet me and somehow knows where I live. I really want to meet him as well, but as much as I'm excited, a part of me is scared too because
I have not told anyone about it. He wants me to keep it that way, which I wonder why? He even jokingly mentioned to stop
talking to me if I tell anyone about us. I know what people say about internet safety and all that. I want to tell my parents but I'm scared that
they will stop me from chatting with him. I don't want to lose him nor do I want to lose my parents trust. WHAT SHOULD I DO???

Dear Completely  Confused,
If I was in your shoes I would tell my best Friend and see what they thought. See if they thought it was a good idea to be talking to him in an online chat room. If they said that you should stop talking to him and tell your parents then I would listen to them. They just want you to be protected and be safe, they don't want to loose you. Also if you are worried that you would loose your trust with your parents, don't worry about it all they want is best for you. They don't want to loose you. You should talk to someone about it though because its better then have no one knowing about this.
Signed,
Mr.Swag

Dear confused,
if anything, go with your parents trust. just because you stop talking to a guy you met on the internet doesn't mean that your life's over. you have other friends you can talk to, or if you do decide to tell your parents, maybe they will understand and still let you talk to him. I don't know about meeting this guy though, because you never know if its just a weird man just sitting behind his computer screen saying he's a kid like you but actually wants to meet you in person to try to kidnap you.

Dear Completely Confused,
Happiness is a wonderful feeling, but your personal safety should always come first. If you really care about this person and want to meet with him, I think first you should request to video chat him. This way you can see what he really looks like, and you'll learn if he's a normal teenage boy, or some 40 year old pedophile trying to creep you. He's being very secretive about his personal information, and that isn't a very good sign when it comes to relationships. If he's hiding something, there's a reason for it. You have to be aware of how easily someone can fool you over the internet, and how unsafe the online world really is. The best thing you can do right now is confirm if he's really who he says he is, then decide what to do from there.

Sincerely, Mr. Swag.

Dear Completely Confused,

I understand that you are in a twist, but telling your parents about this would be the best choice, or just stop talking to him. He sounds like a creep, trying to stalk you. Which is not good! Yes, you may have some issues with your parents about this, but it's better then being blackmailed, right? So, tell them about this guy, and see what they think. If anything goes wrong, that way you have your parents and you'll feel better. Better then you could alone in this.

Sincerely,
Mr. Swag

Dear Completely Confused,

I know that sometimes it feels like you've met the perfect guy and that you know everything about him, but you could be wrong. If he's being very secretive about himself and keeps telling you to not tell anyone, then he's definitely hiding something from you. You might feel like you really know and connect with him, but people lie on the internet all the time! Talk to a close friend of yours and see what they think if you're too scared to talk about this with your parents. If you really want to meet this guy, video chat him first before actually agreeing to see him. If he refuses to do that, then you shouldn't go because he could be much worse than you imagined. You should really get to know him better and find out who he really is before taking it to the next step.
