Dear Mr. Swag,

In the beginning of the school year, one of my friends and a girl from our school had a fight, but I wasn't a part of it. Me and my friend were really close, but ever since I refused to get involved in the fight, I feel like she hates me. Every time she sees me in the halls or around school, she would start making faces and completely ignore me. Eventually, I began to do the same to her because I thought she didn't want to be my friend anymore, but it's starting to get worse. Now, whenever she comes near me, she always tries to trip or push me and then act like she's joking and that nothing's wrong. At first, I didn't let it bother me and went along with it, but it's beginning to get really annoying. She got caught tripping me a couple of times by the teachers and blamed it all on me! I really want to start doing the same things to her but I don't want to be rude. I feel like she's still my friend at times but then she does something that completely humiliates me! I still want to be friends with her but she's treating me like dirt! What do I do?

Sincerely,
Irritated

Dear irritated

In my opinion i think you should talk to her about how your feeling, maybe she doesn't realize whats going on. You might have miss understood what shes thinking, if it makes you feel better you could also talk to your friends and see what they think. One of the worst things you could do is make her feel the way your feeling, it wouldn't make anything better just cause more problems i understand that your hurt but don't worry your not alone. Just try talking to her alone and find out whats going on.

Sincerely,
Mr. Swag

Dear Irritated,

I can understand the situation you're in. Your friend is only acting this way because she is deeply hurt! She wanted you to stick with her during her tough time, and became very upset when you refused to be involved in the fight. She may be acting like she hates you but deep down, she also wants to be your friend, that's why she's doing this, maybe to get your attention. What I think you should do is confront your friend, you need to talk to her and ask her face-to-face why she is behaving like this. If you really want to be her friend, then tell her that although you really like her and want to be her friend, you do not like to be involved in arguments. It will make the situation way better and when she realizes you really want to be her friend, she'll want to be yours as well! But whatever happens, don't let your feelings get the best of you, what I mean is, no matter how much she annoys or ignores you, don't do the same to her because this will only make matters worse.

Sincerely,
Mr.Swag
