Artist Information

Hi Guys,
Is there anyway of getting the the artist biography/info via a api
call? Not a link like this..
http://www.7digital.com/artists/keane/?partner=1401


But rather information about the artist, preferably in xml.

Hi Aidan,

unfortunately we cannot provide the artist biographies from our
website via the API since we license them from a 3rd party and we're
not allowed to redistribute them.

However you can use the 7digital artist IDs with our partners Echo
Nest API [http://the.echonest.com/] to get a list of artist's
biographies with different license types. More info here:

E.g. you can get a "cc-by-sa" licensed biography for Keane
(7digital:artist:1) with this request:

http://developer.echonest.com/api/v4/artist/biographies?api_key=N6E4NIOVYMTHNDM8J&id=7digital:artist:1&format=xml&results=1&start=0&license=cc-by-sa

Thanks for sharing this info with me Filip,
I understand.

We were hoping to using this functionality on a public device, but I
don't think this would meet the legal requirements of echonest. : (
