Hi everyone. My name is Claude Nix. I grew up in Hampton Roads, but
have spent the last 4.5 years working at various startups in San
Francisco. While out West, I worked for a number of interesting
companies, notably Siri (before Apple acquired them) and Get
Satisfaction. I also started a family while out there, and with a
second child on the way, decided to pack it up and come home to
Virginia Beach. When I left VB, there was no Ruby scene here at all.
I'm pleased to see that's changed, and I look forward to meeting some
of you and working to help grow a thriving startup community in my
hometown.
I'm currently spending my time working on my own product to solve a
bunch of problems in my favorite hobby space - sailboat racing. I'll
run out of money before I get this thing off the ground and generating
revenue though, so I'll be looking around for some part time contract
work to keep food on the table.
So, that's me in a nutshell. I'll plan to attend the next ruby meetup
in Norfolk on 11/9 and I might do that Startup Norfolk thing too.

Welcome Claude! I just recently moved down here as well. 757rb is a
great group of guys. In fact they helped me find a local Ruby job!
