PAO H1!: Radio station fund raising in "support of military" - possible scam

I was contacted by someone claiming to be with a Christian radio station in Beaumont. They claim they are trying to thank service members on air by reading a PSA of support, but are looking for people to sponsor a week of their programming. Many red flags: they refuse to put in anything in writing; they asked a military unit for money to support the military; they called from an 877 number.
They referred to the 133rd FA coming home soon, which leads me to think that they are scanning the news for military related happenings of emotional significance (deployments, homecomings) and combining that with a purported association with a Christian radio station to ensnare.
If it is legitimate, they are operating in a cagey, unprofessional way. Either way we should stay away.
Please advise your units, troops and families. If contacted, do not engage; refer the caller to me and report the contact.

We're doing right now scheduled for September 20th. Would love to have an opportunity to read the message to the major it and it in He's in Public Affairs Office.
