Message to Mr. Alexander De Croo,
Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)

Greetings of knowledge, culture, achievement, and history,

We extend our greetings to you and, through you, to all the staff of your esteemed organization, and we commend your significant efforts in serving humanity and advancing sustainable development worldwide.

We have observed that dozens of your institution’s staff members have joined our network, alongside many others before them. This is worthy of appreciation, attention, and reflection, and confirms that the Arab Translators Association (ARTA) deserves recognition for its intellectual and humanitarian contributions.

Accordingly, the Executive Board of the Arab Translators Association has decided to honor all staff members of your organization by awarding you an Honorary Doctorate.

We kindly request that you celebrate this recognition and consider it a rare and historic global event upon completion of the technical procedures and the official issuance of the certificate.

We also invite members of your organization to apply for ARTA’s Honorary Doctorate, Professorship by Practice, and other certifications.

Please accept our highest respect and appreciation,

Amer Al Azem

The Arab Translators Association Issues 100 Honorary Doctorates in a Historic Cultural Achievement

The Arab Translators Association announced the issuance of 100 honorary doctorates within a record period of approximately 70 days, in what has been described as a strenuous and legendary accomplishment achieved through continuous day-and-night efforts.

The first honorary doctorate was launched on January 18, followed by a series of recognitions honoring academic, cultural, political, and media figures from around the world, culminating in the 100th doctorate issued yesterday. Today, the 101st doctorate has already been awarded, confirming the ongoing momentum of this pioneering cultural initiative.

This achievement is part of a long journey that began in 2005, during which the Association has honored thousands of distinguished minds, aiming to restore recognition to knowledge, culture, and human achievement, while highlighting influential intellectual figures.

The Association emphasized that issuing 100 honorary doctorates is not merely a number, but a historic cultural milestone and a message that knowledge and intellectual work can create real impact despite limited resources, as the Association operates entirely on a voluntary basis without external funding.

It added that this initiative represents a cultural response and a reaffirmation of human creativity and excellence, stressing that honoring minds is a true investment in the future.

The ARTA Doctorate: The Strongest Culturally and Morally
The Arab Translators Association (ARTA), led by Amer Al Azem, has announced the consolidation of the ARTA Honorary Doctorate as one of the most powerful cultural and moral distinctions at both the Arab and international levels, following an unprecedented achievement of issuing 100 honorary doctorates in just 70 days.

The Association emphasized that this doctorate is not merely a symbolic recognition, but rather a culmination of a long journey of cultural and moral struggle, reflecting:

35 years of cultural struggle
20 years of honoring minds
Dozens of poems and studies written about Amer Al Azem
In its statement, ARTA affirmed that the philosophy behind this doctorate is based on a clear principle:

“True honor lies in recognizing a person’s values, knowledge, and positions—not their title or status.”

The Association further stressed that this doctorate:

Is not for racists, the ignorant, or those who lack dignity
But is awarded to elites who represent intellect, ethics, and genuine achievement
ARTA also highlighted that its cultural mission aims to:

Restore the role of culture as a force for change
Build a global network of academics and intellectuals
Establish a concept of recognition based on human and intellectual value
The doctorate carries a deeply human message:

“I honor you with my history, my struggle, my achievements, my suffering, and my pain.”

This reflects that the recognition is not superficial, but rather a transfer of a complete human experience, with all its struggle, achievement, and pain.

The Association calls on academic, cultural, and media institutions to:

Take pride in this doctorate
Promote and publish it widely
Support its mission in building a free, educated, and dignified human being
