The invisible canopy over you

Sprinkling natural tenderness

As and when necessary for life.  

Father is this and much more. 

The skyscape unfolding gradually

With delightful infinite thoughts

As you strive for immortality. 

Father is this and much more. 

The celestial kindness guiding you

Through despair of nightmares

And possibility of rainbow dreams. 

Father is this and much more. 

Your gift of eternal smile 

From the supreme wisdom

Extending from the first point

Of the universe in time and space 

Till the ever expanding opposite point

Of the universe in time and space. 

Father is this and much more,

Beyond words and knowledge.

FIRST TOUCH 

Soon after my birth, 

You touched me

For the first time ever

With the perpetual blessing

Of a thousand springs

And the endless affection

Of a hundred million flowers.

A little later I knew,

You are called Father.

BIO

I am Kasiviswanathan Kunnanath Balakrishnan, born in 1972 in Kerala, India.  A bachelor loving classical poetry and philosophy, I try to express myself in free verses and prose poems. After eighteen years spent in Abu Dhabi, the capital city of the United Arab Emirates where I worked as a financial professional, I am now back in my native land.
