Dear Fabrizio,

A long time, I have been thinking which poem to submit for this project.
I have finally chosen this one, which counts as an attempt to write a sonnet.

The song of heaven (sonnet)

The violent waves of the stormy sea break
It is the song of heaven that they sing
Amazing, wonderful music they make
Adorable roars, truly enlight'ning

Heaven is pleased and delights in it all
A heavenly cloud gives the sea a kiss
The horizon, at a distance so small
Embraces the sea, an ocean of bliss

But heavenly songs and heavenly scenes
Without the beautiful image of you
Do not seem complete and so in my dreams
I'm not here alone, but we're here with two

So much I love sounds and sights of the sea
Much more dear's still, the love ‘tween you and me

My Bio:
First name: Hans
Family name: Van Rostenberghe
Date and place of birth: 18 October 1964, Oudenaarde , Belgium.
Currently living in Bachok (town), Kelantan (state), Malaysia.
I am a medical doctor, neonatologist and professor at Universiti Sains Malaysia, where I work since 1994.
Big sources of inspiration in my life have included Dr. Albert Schweitzer, Dr. Martin Luther King and the Médécins sans Frontieres.
Poetry became a passion when I was bedridden for three months due to a fractured vertebra in 2010. I write under the author name Aufie Zophy and put most of my poems on the website PoemHunter. I am a reader of philosophy, a nature lover and a family man. I believe strongly that the world is heading towards harmony through an ever increasing kindness revolution which is close to its sharp inflection point on its exponential curve.

Thanks and  best regards

Hans
