Broke my Brooks!!

Last week on the way to the bike shop, where I work part time, both rails on my B17 snapped!  The last 4 miles was quite uncomfortable!!

So I  started searching for new rails but they appeared to be elusive.  Found 1 at Ben's Cycle and promptly ordered it as it was the last one available.  But I  didn't notice the fine print that it was for a B17s. Ben's Cycle was willing to do a return.  But  had a thought and went out to my shop and yep! My wife's 2 B17's are shorts! So I  have a spare.

Found Simon Firth's card in my box of Brooks parts. A quick email, which he promptly returned,  looks like he might be able to get me what I need.

Brooks England does not offer the rails on there site. So I was beginning to think it was going to be a total loss.

I had a B17 Ti fail at the weld where the rail connects to the rear of the frame.  Saddle was used for touring and commuting only....say 40,000 miles.  I weigh under 175 lbs and the leather was not stretched and never required tensioning.   Didn't consider salvaging so it went in the trash.
