Anybody have a lead on such a thing?

The only semi production looking "regular" full fenders I could google up was this set on the Jeff Jones blog, but there is no identifying info on the post, just "full coverage fenders." They are underwhelming and too short, but at least its something--whatever it is.

Looking around at the various "fat bike" DIY fenders yields mostly very lame and extremely unpleasant looking by no means full coverage fenderish things, all mostly cut from the same dumb template.

No personal experience, but I’ve seen fenders by kelpie cycles for a wide variety of wide tires. http://kelpiecycles.com/hammer-rolled-custom-fenders/

Thank you Hudson. Those look mighty special, but I am pretty sure artisanaly custom-hammered titanium fenders will be a bit too dear for my budget at the moment.

I guess not a huge demand for fendering what up to now would be mostly tire sizes used for mountain biking. But I thought with the advent of bike packing/adventure riding, and even some urban city riding with bigger tires, there would be a couple of production offerings.

^ I might ask Waltly if they can supply matching Ti fenders with the frame; the worst they can do is say no... ;-)

Those fender were made by a company called "Big O Manufacturing".

They are no longer in business, unfortunately.

Trek does not seem to sell them separately

I know you were talking about the fenders on that Trek ebike but...they have the nerve to charge $5000+ for a bike they call the “Super Commuter” and it doesn’t come with even one g**damn rack? Maybe I didn’t get enough sleep last night but now I’m in a bad mood.

Commuters with $5000 to spend on their super commuter bikes have boutique commuter backpacks or messenger bags from places like Mission Workshop or Tom Bihn (if not bespoke), now dowdy old panniers on racks ;-)

They get their clothes cleaned at their tech hub jobs and shower in their company showers then eat at the company cafeteria and thus don’t need to carry anything with them at all.

Yep, strictly talking about fenders. Although would not surprise me if someone can drop 5K on the commuter given they live in big urban center, do not own a car, etc

Wait I looked closer and it does have a rear rack, attached to the rear dropout and the fender. I take back what I said.

I'm curious about 27.5x3" full fenders as well for my Jones. The ones I've seen online were all from the now-defunct "Big O Manufacturing," which I believe was a guy doing it small-time in Wisconsin.

The Trek linked to above is a 650 x 2.4" machine, so not as wide as I'd like.

Radpower e-bikes have a fender kit that's currently out of stock: https://www.radpowerbikes.com/products/radrover-full-fender-set

Luna Bike sells a full fender set but it's also out of stock.

If you really want to spend some dough there are custom wood options here for around $300: http://mkfenders.com/

Hey Mark,

I forgot to revisit this post, but a while back when I was search for fenders on my Evasion I came across this post from Morgan Taylor ( @foundinthemountains ) where he was running 65mm Planet Bike Cascadia fenders over 27.5" x 3.0" Trail Boss tires.

Thank you, Chip. Those look not terrible, but yeah, stretched a little thin. I half kiddingly asked the brother of the owner of the company I work for recently who refurbishes old British race cars if he had something to make fenders, and it turns out he does. I might not get him to actually help, but maybe I can check out the machine at some point.

I don't know if this is the same machine, but this is interesting (long; best to skip forward to the points where he writes over the image--and keep volume low!)  https://youtu.be/kxrIYkb50mA

I agree they look OK, but not as good/clean as Honjos offerings. I've thought about copying @andrew_squirrel and put some Berthoud fender stays on them to give them a cleaner look. Personally, I think that makes them look much nicer.

Justin, that link doesn't seem to work for me, but are they still in production? I tried looking into getting some Big "O" Fenders and everyone I talked to said they weren't producing them anymore.

I built up a 26" wheelset with 3.0" WTB Rangers for my Evasion and the Honjo H95's are on their way. I will report back when they're installed!
