I know this is a 650B group but any interest in a 650C frameset?

Hi all,

I have a 650C custom frameset from Sycip out of Santa Rosa. Has a square taper BB, its lightweight, measures 49 cm ST, 50.8cm TT, has small nicks, and cannot be converted to 650B, I know it sucks.

I do have it listed on Ebay and the Radavist around $649. I still have most of the campy parts and the wheels if interested. I can share more photos if needed.

650C tires are practically non-existent. way fewer options that 650B, never thought I would be saying that.

A 26” 559 BSD conversion might be good option for a 650C bike!

Hi all,

I don’t know if the photos attached to my original email. The bike was an introduction to cycling 3 years ago. I didn’t realize how important Sycip is to the frame building community, but I do know. Any who, roadie life wasn’t for me for various reasons. So if anyone wants to try a conversion or you are into 650C, bang my line.

Maybe even more obscure, I've got a 650d wheel if anyone wants it! Doesn't fit a 650b tire and has a schrader valve.

Just checking the calendar...

Well, it's not April 1.

Tried to check this out of curiosity.

An internet search using DuckDuckGo for "650D bicycle wheels" mostly returns results for 650B and 20" wheels.  Checking the DDG AI bot from there returns "Sorry, no relevant information was found in our search."

I then checked for "650 D bicycle wheels" (note the space) and again DDG mostly returns info on 650B.  Checking the AI bot on that page returns results stating "650D wheels, also known as 650B or 27.5-inch wheels, are a popular choice for...".

I would like to see further research in this matter, but only as a matter of curiosity.

Oops, it was the 700D apparently.

From Sheldon: "Oddball size formerly used on some GT models. Not available. 584 mm tires may work. Note: 700D is often incorrectly identified as 587mm bead seat."

I had one 650b tire that seemed to fit once, but I couldn't get it back on right after that without part of the bead not seating well enough to trust it.

I run 700D wheels with some regularity:  I have a number of Araya RM 20 rims and currently use them with RH tires as well as Gravel King 650b x 38.  They work.  (I've run them tubeless and tubed.) Sheldon was spot on for many things, but I measured my rims out to be 587mm and the tight fit of the 650b tires further support that.  Idk why Sheldon doesn't think they are a few mm larger than typical 650b tires.  I also played around with using 650a tires that were a loose fit.  Now, 650c (571mm) wheels are not in my stable.  The 26 conversion seems like a good idea depending on clearance.
