Up for sale is an obscure bike built in Carlisle, PA, by RHS Cycles. From what I've been able to find out, RHS was Richard Shaeffer, an employee of that shop in the 80s who likely built this frame for himself. It's nicely done with a full Reynolds 531 steel frame, according to the decals. I've set this up with 650B x 38mm wheels and mostly new parts, hence listing it here. The specs:
  • seat tube = 59cm (center to top)
  • top tube = 57.5cm (center to center)
  • standover = 32.5"
  • chain stay = 43cm
  • wheel base = 103cm
  • mostly Shimano drivetrain with Shimano Tourney XT triple crankset (48/38/28t), Shimano HG 13-32t 8-speed cassette, Shimano Deore XT rear derailleur, Shimano Exage front derailleur, Microshift downtube 8-speed indexed shift levers, SRAM 8-speed chain, MKS Urban Platform pedals
  • Tektro brake levers and Tektro R559 dual-pivot brakes
  • Velocity 650B rims with Miche Racing rear hub and SP Dynamo front hub, Pacenti 650B x 38mm tires with very little wear
  • Lumotec IQ front lamp
  • Nitto stem and Nitto "randoneur" handlebars, orange cotton tape covered in a few layers of clear shellac
  • American Classic seatpost (27.2mm) and Velo-Orange touring saddle
  • Honjo fenders
  • Crane bell
Total weight as shown is 24.7 lbs, not bad for a complete build from this era. Frame is in overall good shape; a few nicks here and there, but the black finish is easily touched up with nail polish or Testors or black Sharpie. Mechanically everything works great; I took it for an extended shakedown ride this morning and would keep it if I weren't trying to downsize!

Price is $350 + Pirate Ship/UPS shipping from zip 02446 (local pickup in the Boston area welcome!); PayPal or Venmo for the transaction.
