Priced wit the idea that you would have to ship from Seattle, but if you nearby that's nice. I love this bike and I've done both overbiking and underbiking on it and it's been great but need the space for a more mountainy MTB. Pics in the CL ad.

Seriously, if this was one size up (did they even make those?) I’d be all over this.

This is oddly close to what I've been dreaming of for winter commutes. I have no idea what 22" on a frame like this means though. I'm 5'10" and seem to ride 58cm road bikes. Does 22in mean it's near a 56cm or does it not convert that way? Anyone able to say if this is a good fit?

I think I worded this oddly. Sorry about that. I've had a bunch of people interested but the price does NOT include shipping anywhere. Shipping via bikeflights and a shop boxing it up would be on the buyer. Thanks!

As for sizing, it's long and low. There is a ton of seatpost and stem showing and it's a 120mm stem (or maybe 110 :) ). The TT is 23" C-to-C and the seat tube is 22" c-to-c. A short stem and a dropped seatpost would mean it should fit less-giant folks just fine.

In case anyone is on the fence: The Rock Combo is one of my favorite production bikes ever made. I’ve owned three. (The largest size is still not quite large enough for me, so I sell them, then I miss them...)

They represent a wonderful midpoint between road and mountain geometry. Like the XO-1, these bikes are from an alternate universe where the ‘90s hybrids were serious bikes with aggressive geometry and fat tires, rather than the useless things that actually happened (relaxed bikes with slim tires). 30 years too early!

They are very, very rare. I don’t have the numbers in front of me, but I believe less than 200 were made in this size.

Ryan’s price is amazing! Less than I sold my last all-original Rock Combo for, and with *such* a lovely build. I mourn the loss of the very neon totally-tubular-dude original paint, but... most people probably would not.

I am entirely envious of whomever buys this bike.

That’s all I got. Just wanted to gush a little.

Best,
Reed

Sold!

I guess it was underpriced and sold this morning to a local Seattle buyer. It's being ridden on a partially snowy Iron Horse trail this afternoon with the new owners daughter so at least it went to a good place. (also my seldom seen can get built up now)

Thanks for the interest!

I cyclocrossed mine last fall and had my own (very small) spontaneous cheering squad. They are fun!

Congrats on the sale!

Andy, if you see another one for sale...

I'm 5'9" and own a medium RockCombo. I think it fits me just right and the large would be too big. For reference I own / ride road frames from 55cm to 58cm.

Another bike in this genre was the GT Tachyon. It came with proprietary 700D wheels, on which I ran 650A Col de la Vies. Could easily take a 650B wheel with minor brake pad adjustment. Stem had a front plate and could be flopped, fork had track ends to adjust trail. My favorite component was the Command Shifters from Suntour.

I wonder about that Stumpy, seller doesn’t seem to know quite what he has: Deore XT, not plain Deore; 26” wheels, never heard of 23” “wheel frame diameter”; and the price - $1000? Seriously?!

Something fishy there.
