Long-time 650b members would probably remember this bike back in the days of relatively few native 650b bikes and many conversions. This is my 1984 Specialized Sequoia repainted and with a Kogswell-designed low-trail fork. The picture here is not exactly how it is today, but pretty close. I am asking for $950 (I am also open to selling frameset/rolling chassis/frameset+parts). Prefer to sell it locally, but if open to ship. The sale price does not include shipping cost.
Details:
- specialized sequoia "59cm." The seat tube is 59cm CTT and top tube is 56cm CTC. It really fits like a 57cm road bike. The geometry is "copied" by the Rivendell Romulus later.
- I swapped out the fork to a Kogswell low-trail fork and added moved the canti-posts to the seat-stays to make it run 650b wheels. The fork has mid-fork and crown-top braze-ons
- The rack and bag in the picture are NOT included
-
- Velocity Synergy rims; Shimano DN-80 dynamo front hub and 105 rear hub; 9-speed cassette; Grand Bois Hetre and RH BSP tires (1 each); B&M dynamo front lamp
- Shimano low-rise rear derailleur and Campy front derailleur; Sugino XT 110bcd crankset set up as a compact double
- Nitto Grand Randonneur handlebar; one Suntour bar-end shifter and one silver downtube shifter, with a crane bell serves as the fastening bolt for the downtube shifter braze-on
- Tektro mini-v-brakes with long-pull brake levers.
- Seatpost;
- Pedals and saddle NOT included
- VO 48mm fenders
I have had this bike for 15 years and commissioned all the modifications and repaint. It has been a great bike for me and still one of the nicest riding one I have had. I have done many brevets and several multi-day bike tours with it. I gave it away to a friend a few years ago and it came back to me. It overlaps with my other bikes too much and i need the space!
