Hi everyone: In a ruthless orgy of downsizing, got another one for you--Jack Taylor Tourist with a sloping top tube and 56cm/22" effective top tube.

$1K plus buyer pays for Shipbikes.com or if you can pick up near Seattle great!

Cool bike! Serial number 8735 indicates it’s a post-works production from 1998. One of the last 25 bikes Norman made. The sloping top tube is somewhat rare, in my limited experience. I suppose that’s an advantage of SIFbronze welding, no lugs to constrain the angles.

Someone should grab this lovely bit bicycle history.

Yes, it was fillet-brazed in the "shed"!  I don't know much about the history other than that it was Mike Thompson's at one point and has passed through a few other hands.

My bike situation is out of control.

(Edit: It was pointed out to me that the nondriveside rear dropout appears to be separating where there is a line of rust and should be rebrazed.  I've been riding it and it's been fine but I agree the smart thing would be to have it fixed.  Fortunately I think this is a bike that's worth fixing!)

Thanks Lena!  I think that Kogswell P/R is going back on the block instead...are porteur bikes still a thing?

(Psst--if anyone wants a 56cm Kogswell P/R with a Haulin Colin porteur rack and IGH email me and I'll gather the details; local sale in Seattle much preferred.)

Folks: I was seduced by an expensive, non-bike related discretionary purchase so in order to keep things evened out the Jack Taylor is back on offer.  Email me at rcnute(AT)hotmail.com if interested.  Thank you!

Wait a minute, you're NOT going to tell us what the "non-bike related discretionary purchase" is? I'm dying to know what you'd give up a gem like this for?

A new cello bow.  If you thought bikes were expensive...

I had a quick look and it seems cello bows go for from $7-3600AUD - quite a range; What do you gain by paying 500+ times as much?!? Guitar picks and drum sticks seem very reasonable by comparison...

A cello bow is absolutely worth sale of a bike.  carbon fiber?  my daughter opted for a carbon fiber violin bow which a nice alternative to the dwindling supply of pernambacu.

I have a nice carbon bow but tried out an expensive pernambuco bow at the luthier's and was blown away.  Heavier, better balance, better bite into the strings; was a much better fit for my particular instrument.

But no one's beating my door down on the JT which may be good--considering moustaching it and selling my Rawland Olaf instead (with your Nexus hub Carl!).

Cello players need more bite for sure.
I thought I saw that Olaf offered up a while back and thought that the 650b IGH wheel that sounded familiar.
