Original parallel double top tube, ultra-spec'd Bombadil frame/fork/headset/bottom bracket for sale
Size - 56cm - I am a PBH ~90 and ride a 60cm Saluki, I find the Bombadil to ride nearly identical from a fit perspective with added top tube clearance of course.
Geometry - BB Drop 67mm / TT Upslope 6deg / Rear Hub Space 135mm / Approx Standover 85cm / ST Angle 72deg / HT Angle 71.5deg / Rake 5.2mm / TT 60.6cm / Chain Stay 45mm
Condition - Plenty of nicks and chips, chainsuck, the seat tube decal has a tear, dropouts are paint chipped, and one of the top tubes has some paint rubbed off. That said it's a stunning color and constantly gets comments when I ride it, if I keep the bike it won't get a paintjob any time soon as the overall appearance is good (beasauge!). No rust and to no structural concerns.
Tire Clearance - 650B x 2.25" knobbies without fenders, 650B x 48mm with fenders - may have some more capacity for a 50mm slick but I haven't tried, see the pictures below with the Compass SBH 48's and fenders.
Test Rides - If you are local to DC-VA-MD area I'd be happy to let you ride it as I have it built up currently.
Sale Includes - Frame, Fork, Headset (Tange, likely original), Bottom Bracket (Shimano, new <250miles)
Asking Price - $1,400 shipping included via bikeflights in lower 48, paypal f/f or cash in person
Options - I can spec out a nearly complete build if requested, as it is currently built I'd probably need $2,250 and buyer would pay shipping. Drivetrain is essentially brand new 3x8 speed shimano w/ a clutch RD and Silver shifters, brand new chainrings, chain, cassette etc. Nobby Nics on Shimano LX hubs, synergy rims, Nitto RM013 dirt drops and the crown jewel - Bruce Gordon Canti's.
Hit me up offlist for offers, discussion and more photo's if interested. If it matters, I'm only selling in pursuit of a ~3" tired bike to complement my Saluki and XO-3. If I didn't have quite so much blood, sweat and tears into my re-painted Saluki I'd probably sell it and keep the Bombadil as it's more versatile but as it is the Saluki is perfectly dialed in for commuting, light off-pavement and rail-trail functions and I love my matching frame/fender paintjob.
