Hey there,

I've been researching frame pump options for a new build. I have the ability to add tabs on the rear stays so that's where it would go.

The Lezyne keeps popping up in the photos. Really clean. Like it!

I'm sure they are modded but how? :)

I need to give the frame builder some specs, but before I do, I want to understand what I am doing first.

Thanks you!
Tim

Tim,

I've successfully modified my Lezyne Road Drive.  I forgot which size though, probably the large since I have 59cm L'avecaise.  It depends on your frame size.

flickr is down for the moment, but Darren, I and others have done pretty much the same mod to our Lezynes to make them peg-compatible.

Basically you just need to take it apart and add a cylindrically shaped spring (which you can find at any hardware store that has a bulk fastener section) inside the handle, so there's some spring tension to keep the pump pushing on the frame pegs. That's it!

Best would be to buy the pump first, choosing the size you want, then mod it with the spring and give it to the builder so he can determine the optimal peg spacing.

Anton

PS-- I'm sure others have arrived at the same solution, but I got my idea from flickr and list member eastboundtrain who did a very nice flickr photo tutorial for the mod.

Super helpful guys. The Flickr link and subsequent comments were exactly hoped for. Now to wait for the frame to be made...
