Weird lump on steerer tube

just unboxed my new Soma Grand Randonneur frame and upon inspection of the steerer tube I came across this “bump” don’t really know what it is or if I should be concerned. What do you think?

Send the picture to Soma. 
9/8 butted steerers are so strong i seriously doubt that is an issue. But it is very difficult to see anything with the black color.

Michael, the Grand Randonneur has a 1" threaded steerer, not 9/8". I agree about just sending a picture to Soma to see what they think.

Looks like a little stray braze. You could verify by sanding off the paint to see if it’s the color of brass/bronze.
