Hi all,

Hope folks are staying safe and taking care.

I'm looking for a home for a frame that I purchased, but didn't get around to building up. With plenty of time, this would be a great opportunity to build it, but my riding interests have changed and I suspect it is probably a bit small for me.

I am told it is a Nishiki Team from the 80s and has .7/.4/.7 tubes throughout. Haven't verified with ultrasonic. The fork was swapped for an English (I'm forgetting the brand) sport touring fork which was re-raked to make it lower trail. You may notice the bubbled clear coat on the back of the fork legs that resulted from this.

Other details:
-56cm ST, C-C
-57.5cm TT, C-C
-70mm reach for front brake, estimated
-62mm reach for rear brake, estimated

I dimpled the chain stays. My Hetres are too tight, but I think it would be a very fun fair-weather bike with 38s (no fenders).

Asking $250 + actual Bike Flights net to me for frame, fork, and Shimano 600 headset.

Thanks for looking and please let me know if you have any questions.

So is the paint stripped and then just clearcoat applied to the bare metal?

To clarify about the paint: it is dark gray powder and what appears to be hand-painted "brass" around the joints with a clear coat over that.

Thanks for the question, Steve.

BTW, while the kids look the other way, how big of a tire would this fit in 700c mode?

Thanks, Max for forwarding.

Looks like 700x38 will clear in front and 700x35 in the rear, but would definitely have to be deflated to remove the wheel.

Happy to answer any more questions.

I have the original fork for this if anyone's interested, rake-40, takes short reach, and if it helps Rory's sale.  FYI. according to Bicycle Czar, where the frame came from, the frame was stripped and  powder clear coated, the grey you see is some sort of phosphate rust inhibitor coating, but you can still see the brass brazing around the lugs.

Hi everyone,

Bumping this post!

TL;DR version:
Planey, low-trail, clears 38s, includes: Mafac Racers + hangers; Shimano 600 aero levers

After riding this sporadically as a fixed/SS and briefly as a derailleur bike, it's time to move it along. A little small for me at 6'0" and 180lbs, but planes nicely and did not experience shimmy.

Longer version:
Nishiki Team from the 80s (Prestige .7/.4/.7 tubes!) The fork was swapped for a Woodrup sport touring fork which was re-raked to make it lower trail. You may notice the bubbled clear coat on the back of the fork legs that resulted from this.

Geometry
-56cm ST, C-C
-57.5cm TT, C-C
-70mm reach for front brake, estimated
-62mm reach for rear brake, estimated

Disclosures
I dimpled the chain stays, so it fits GravelKing 584-38 - would also accommodate 622-32. BB shell had an unusual hole for the cable guide so I epoxied one on which has worked. A few spots of surface rust. Frame was stripped, phosphate dipped, then clear coated. List member and previous owner Tom T wanted to investigate some oxidation so stripped some of the top tube and then touched it up. Headset is a bit index-y.

Photos
Pictures are here. Feel free to ask for more. The ones in front of the rust-colored garage door are the most recent, FWIW.

Price
Asking $250 + actual Bike Flights net to me (from 94597) for frame, fork, and Shimano 600 headset, Shimano 600 aero levers, Mafac Racers, and an additional set of nearly complete Racers "for parts."

Thanks for looking! Happy to do my best to answer questions.

I'd like to emphasize that I'm open to offers and also interested in the following items in trade:

Dynamo lights
32h rims (650b, natch)
32h rim brake dynamo hub
8/9 speed index DT shifters
Fizik Arione saddle
Size medium bibs with plain aesthetics

Thanks!
