Posting here because I’ve read that others have converted the Trek Elance to a 650B wheel type.
This bicycle still has 700c wheels but I would dicount after the auction if you didn’t want the wheel set on there now. Here is the eBay auction link:  https://www.ebay.com/itm/404952125494?_trksid=p2471758.m4704
65cm Tall Trek 420, fits a ridder over 6 tall (I am 6’4”)

Honjo Fenders, Phil Wood Rear Hub, Avocet Saddle, and Rivendell Tires. Heat Treated Rivendell Moustache Bars with Nitto stem and Silver Bar end shifters. Wide range freewheel and very low gearing

Good working condition, last trip was an overnighter of about 150 miles.
Pictures taken 02/22/23. I haven't  polished the aluminum nor stainless many of these parts will clean up nicely and shine.. The added Honjo  fenders, bar-end shifters, bars and Nitto stem, cost almost as much as I'm asking for the whole bicycle.  The Phil wood rear hub and Wobler Super Champion (Model 58) rim are worth an additional $380 when new. (Wheel was built by Peter White Cycles (a high end wheel specialist builder.)
Frame Number 247748 (see Vintage Trek site image showing 1986 as build date)
Located 80 miles north of Seattle,WA on Orcas Island
NOTE: I’ll be able to ship and /or to show the bike around May 6-9thth . I can’t do anything before then. The bike is stored inside a locked storage at this time and I am traveling until then, sorry for the long delay.

SHIPPING:
I’ll bring the bicycle to the local bike shop (Wildlife Cycles, Eastsound,WA)  that usually charges $60-$80 to carefully box a bicycle and then use BikeFlights to ship it. Cost to be determined on your ship-to location. Bike flights can use a variety of shipping options including USPS, UPS, and FedEx.

I still have the original drop bars if you prefer this set-up, and also may have the standard stem instead of the high rise Nitto stem shown in the pictures. If I switch out the stem Ill need to remove the bar tape and added palm rest on one side of the bars. The origional bars will be bare. The brake levers will still work with the drop bars. Let me know your preference.

I am leaving the country for six months (sailing from New Zealand to Australia) so I can’t accept returns, sorry about this.
