Hi folks, I'm new here, but on the premise that few people know what a
tetrahedron is without looking it up, and that we plan to help things
grow UPward, three-dimentionally, why not call it Pyramid Park?

I agree.  I do not think most people will know or gravitate towards a name that for most will require them to think back to their college days or 6th grade algebra class.

I think Pyramid Park sounds great...the alliteration makes it very accessible, however it's not a pyramid.  Obviously I'm biased towards "Four Points," however I'd vote for another viable option that implied something more meaningful about the park or the neighborhood.

It's just my opinion, but I think adding the name Bella Vista or Queen Village is redundant and unnecessary.  It would be nice to at some point use the park as a reference point for what neighborhood we live in.

Technically it is on the border between Queen Village and Bella Vista.  I'm lacking creativity at the moment, but something along the lines of Border Park or Passyunk Park?

Should we vote at some point?

well, everyone just ignored my post on the pyramid problem???
your punishment is for me to repost the suggestion parts of it, but
i'll spare you the rest:
since the shape it is actually most like is a trapezoid:
Trapezoid Park or (lets add some international flair) Trapezium Park
More simply: The Trapezoid or The Trapezium
one last suggestion, name it after my personal hero: Nipsey Russell
Memorial Park. yep, thats a winner.

I'm thinking we will want to have a strong presence and name picked out in time for a meeting with Councilman DiCicco in Sept. Plus, I think we can all have some preliminary practice before November's much more important election! I suggest we put something together for a vote!

If we agree that this could be a good solution, I can compile all of the name ideas and send them back out to the group.

If anyone has any additional name ideas, please send them along to everyone so that they get added to the roster. Let the lobbying and slanderous campaign ads commence!

With all due respect to the QV Triangle Park, I still like the name, Triangle Park, and the fact that we have the website (Thanks Lea!) helps.

Sort of like Eddie Izzard and colonialism.  Britain captured the colonies through the cunning use of flags!

Anyway, our park is bigger (and not paved over) so maybe we can use the name  Triangle Park in Bella Vista.

Or, here are some other names:

·         Delta Park

·         Five Corners (or Four Corners, depending on whether you count Queen/Webster as two or one)

·         Volunteer Park

·         The Quad

·         Shibe Park (honoring the Philadelphia/Kansas City/Oakland Athletics)

·         MacArthur Park (after the worst song ever)

·         Linkin Park

·         South Park

·         Rosa Park

·         Hyde Park

OK I’ll stop

On behalf of a previous clean-up voluneteer member the suggestion of "P'unk Park" goes out there for the group.

Up to the hour of going to press, nothing has
occurred to mar the peace of the city.
